At Karat, on a relatively small design team, I work towards bringing consistency to our main product and building out our design system. I work on designing out new features and setting the groundwork for our product to scale, along with organizing communications and planning projects for inclusion in the roadmap.
Braintree 3.5 years
Senior Product Designer
At Braintree I did any number of things under the umbrella of Product Design. From PM type work, establishing goals and metrics for a project to day to day fiddling with the anti-aliasing of the brand fonts on our websites. I worked on large projects that spanned years like the redevelopment and redesign of a product offering and heading the development of a design system.
Software for Good 1 year
Front End Designer
At Software for Good I threw myself into learning front end development as a trial by fire type of thing. I learned what an API was and used it. I learned to deal with Wordpress and PHP and doing some really wacky stuff like building a tournament bracket and trying to make it mobile friendly? I learned how to build web stuff for mobile apps while simultaneously and desperately trying to improve the typography and usability of the contractor based designs. It was wild.
Swayspace 5 years
Designer
I cut my teeth out of school at Swayspace. I learned everything from print design for letterpress, how to physically execute said printing, to banking application design. I got to wear all hats of design whether making a logo or establishing branding for a client or learning to make a little widget open and close with jQuery.
